D3.2 Beam Management

Summary: In this deliverable, we aim to determine the best approach for beam management. Based on the system model parameters defined in the previous deliverable, we will evaluate different beam management solutions. Our work is decomposed into beam generation and beam management. In this work, we first consider the question the beam generation of then address the problem of the beam management. Different set of beams have been studied including analytical beams and optimized beams based on genetic algorithms. For the beam management, we have studied the approaches based on beam training and on channel estimation, such as OMP and MUSIC. Additionally, a state-of-the-art overview is provided for beam management in wireless communication and 5G
